Mike Owens is a problem solver who turns big challenges into clear solutions. He thrives on complex projects, whether it’s reorganizing the office’s file system or leading an 8-acre Oakland Zoo expansion with animals, visitors, staff, fire trucks, a gondola from Switzerland, and an elevated boardwalk woven through steep terrain.

Mike designs with community in mind. His recent work in elementary schools focuses on how students use and experience their spaces. His approach is to find the “both, and” solution — meeting as many goals as possible, even when it seems challenging.
