“Interior spaces should reflect the way people walk through the world.”

Jane Catalano is an interior designer who takes a lot of cues from the exterior. She wants buildings to allow people to be surprised or find unexpected beauty, as they would in the natural environment.

Jane thinks it’s important to give people the opportunity to gravitate to the spaces where they feel the most comfortable. So, she tries to create a multitude of experiences while maintaining an understated simplicity that lets the eye rest.

To relax, she reads. History, science, and both literary and “craptacular” fiction. (Sometimes it’s good to let the brain rest, too.) Jane is an extensive list maker. Being on her list is probably a good thing because she’s also a fixer. And, if you need a skilled interior designer to sing harmony in your bluegrass band, you’ve come to the right architectural firm.
