Daniel Webster Elementary School

Modernizations make neighborhood school accessible for all

A new entry pavilion transformed this historic Potrero Hill campus into a more connected and accessible school while preserving the character the community values. Designed as Meek, Noll & Tam JV Architects, the renovation and expansion of this K–5 campus links three existing buildings through a new lobby, elevator, stairs, and ramps, greatly improving circulation and accessibility across the tight site.

The project included a new second floor library, renovated classrooms, and major infrastructure and systems upgrades that modernized the campus inside and out. Throughout the work, key elements of the school’s identity were carefully preserved, including the large tile mosaic at the main entrance, helping the renewed campus feel both familiar and forward looking.
