Center for Liberal Arts

Projecting a strong new visual identity for the College of Alameda

The College of Alameda’s first new building in more than 20 years marks an exciting new chapter for the campus. Designed in partnership with Overaa Construction through a design-build delivery process, the three-story academic building creates a prominent new campus gateway along Webster Street, strengthening connections between the college and the surrounding community. The building provides a permanent home for the Art and Apparel Design and Merchandising (ADAM) Program, along with faculty offices and spaces that support creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning. Flexible studios and classrooms are designed to adapt to emerging technologies, evolving industry practices, and changing workforce needs. Generous daylight and transparent façades create a bright, welcoming learning environment while showcasing the creative energy of campus life to the community beyond.
