RNL Design (now part of Stantec) engaged Noll & Tam as Zoo Veterinary Design Consultant for the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Animal Hospital at the Denver Zoo. While RNL/Stantec had an established relationship with the Zoo, this was their first veterinary facility. On the recommendation of the Oakland Zoo Veterinary Hospital staff, RNL/Stantec enlisted Alyson Yarus as a specialized design consultant. Alyson collaborated closely with the design team, joining site visits to zoo veterinary hospitals across the U.S. to study best practices. She played a key role in bridging the gap between architectural design and veterinary equipment requirements, ensuring the facility would support optimal veterinary care. Her expertise guided the team in integrating veterinary-specific needs into the building’s design. Additionally, she managed a comprehensive 100+ item equipment schedule, ensuring seamless coordination between facility design and operational functionality.
