GREAT NEWS! We have updated our firm’s "nutrition label" by achieving the JUST 3.0 label. While we have been participants in the JUST program since 2019, this latest version from the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) represents a significant shift in how we measure our social impact. The 3.0 framework is intentionally more demanding, introducing new indicators and more stringent benchmarks that require us to look past the surface of our policies and evaluate the real-world results of our firm’s culture.
The transition to these updated standards provided a valuable opportunity for our internal JUST team to perform a rigorous "health check" on our current practices. Rather than a simple data update, the 3.0 process prompted us to implement more formal structures for employee feedback and office accessibility and refine our purchasing habits to better support local economies. Because the scoring metrics have evolved, this label offers a more nuanced and honest reflection of where we stand today, highlighting both our strengths and the areas where we have room to grow.
The value of the JUST label lies in the clarity it provides. It serves as a living roadmap that keeps us accountable to our team, our partners, and local communities. True transparency requires an ongoing commitment to being "in process," and this latest scorecard is the baseline for our future efforts. By participating in this program, we are part of the broader conversation about how the architectural profession can better align its business operations with social justice, equity, and workplace practices.
