It’s hard to believe two weeks have already passed since our firm’s autumn retreat. Our office, along with families and pups enjoyed a relaxing weekend of camping, nature hikes, morning yoga, giant bubble making and beachcombing on the Northern California coast.
This year the retreat fell on the weekend of the Full Harvest Moon. At 99.9% illuminance, the moon was especially striking away from urban lights. To celebrate this natural phenomenon, this year’s special activity was a moon-themed talent show with participants taking the stage to entertain us all under the bright moonlit sky. In a memorable twist, Associate Principal Georgianna’s husband, John, wrote a poem that artfully embraced the moon theme while playfully incorporating one public architect’s favorite topic, agency approvals. Needless to say, it was the fan favorite of the lunar-themed evening. Between the hikes, bubbles, and moonlit entertainment, the weekend offered plenty of memorable moments and reinforced our team’s chemistry and love for all things California Coast!
