Jean-Michel Cousteau Eco-Station

Cabo Pasado, Manabi Province, Ecuador

On the Pacific coast of Ecuador, Noll & Tam Architects designed the Jean-Michel Cousteau Eco-Station to serve as a model for sustainable ecological and cultural development. Part of a larger complex, the Eco-Station is home to a variety of environmental education programs for children and adults. Course topics include ecology, human ecology, sustainable living, fine arts, performing arts and humanities, as well as activities such as diving and equestrian sports. The facility comprises group accommodations for 60 participants, staff housing, a mess hall/assembly room, a medical facility, offices, exhibition spaces, a dive center, and sports facilities.
