Marina Branch Library
Noll & Tam Architects prepared a conceptual design for the new 33,000-square-foot building that houses the administrative offices for the Monterey County Library system and a new Marina Branch Library. In addition to a children's library, periodicals room, and general reference, the new library will provide study rooms for adult literacy programs, a large community meeting room, and a homework center. We paid careful attention to siting the building among the natural features in this coastal city, preserving as many of the existing cypress and palm trees on the site as possible. The building will sit at the edge of a public park, overlooking a pond, wetlands, coastal dunes and the Monterey Bay. In addition to our design services, we assisted the City of Marina in submitting this project for state funding under Proposition 14.
