2195 Hearst Administrative Offices
University of California, Berkeley, CA
Noll & Tam designed the tenant improvements for a new three-story; 65,000-square-foot campus building that will house a diverse array of occupants: the administration departments for Finance, Travel and Disbursement; the Graduate School of Education, Information Systems and Technology; and the historical Mark Twain Papers. Responding to the particular requirements of each tenant group, Noll & Tam established a common design vocabulary and aesthetic for all three floors, creating a cohesive interior design. Spaces are flexible enough to accommodate surges in space needs, but are designed to respond to the spectrum of permanent space requirements. The key outcome of the design is a space that is welcoming and flexible, offering comfortable places for people with disparate purposes to gather, learn and work under one roof.
