Desert Greenhouse University of California Botanical Gardens Berkeley, California Open to the public as a display and educational facility, this technically sophisticated greenhouse is also home to a research area used for the study of rare desert plants. Noll & Tam Architects designed a 3,000-square-foot, computer-controlled greenhouse with cooling and shading functions, a central aisle for public viewing, and a public reception area for special displays and fundraising receptions.
