Oakland Children’s Zoo

Hanging bats, baby goats, and friendly otters in a place for children to learn and play

Noll & Tam Architects worked with master planner and landscape architect MIG to create an immersive experience for the new Oakland Children’s Zoo. We designed new structures for the Bat House, Reptile House, Goat Barn, Pig Barn, Poultry Visitor Barn, and the Insect Building, as well as a new amphitheater and picnic shelter. Details such as child-sized doors and sculptural elements introduce tactile interaction.
