North Berkeley Senior Center Renovation

Artistic Touches and Enhanced Safety: North Berkeley Senior Center's Remarkable Transformation

Noll & Tam completed the seismic renovation of the North Berkeley Senior Center, funded in part by FEMA. The project resulted in an upgraded, accessible building that achieved an Immediate Occupancy seismic rating. Working closely with the City and Senior Center staff, our team designed the facility to not only enhance the building but also create a welcoming environment for staff and patrons. This includes the addition of artist Masayuki Nagase’s "Song of Trees" granite bench at the entrance and acoustic panels by Meyer Sound in Berkeley.
